guys,,
where can I find these codes related to my present(per GC) and other jobs i'm looking around to fit in my original job designation and responsibilties?
Like the intiator in this thread came up with some job/occupation codes which starts with 15 - XXXX ..he talked abt getting it from the approved Labor
I have access to my approved Labor and I-140...but where can I find these codes in those documents?

"approvable" is the right term.
what if there is an rfe on the 140 when the case is not approved (but is approvable) and the employee has already quit? wont the 140 sponsor have to respond saying that employee nada exists? so, even though "approvabe" may be the right legalese, isnt "approved" more practical and relevant for us as beneficiaries.

Chennai does not have an availability till Oct and I am in INDIA in May. I was trying till today to get an apptmt in Chennai but not successful.
I have an AP (through my wife company GC petition), worst case I will use it.
Well now days US consulate have started 'returning worker quota' for every weekday appointment. I used that procedure in Dec 2005. My return date was 2nd Dec 2005 and i went to Visa appointment office on 23rd nov and they gave me appointment for 30th Nov .
I also came to know that mumbai consulate takes some candidates (emergency case) without any confirmed appointment from 9:30 to 10:00 am.

Depends on the interivew time.We can collect the passports on the same day provided VFS gets them from the consulate. Any person can collect the passports provided they present their id and authorization letter from the applicants.
Can people share their experience with same day counter passport collection from the vfs courier center at Chennai.
Reason I ask is, I and my wife have a 9AM appointment on 14th August. And Aug 15th being a holiday on account of India's Independence Day. Since we have to be in US on the 16th August to file for I485, getting the visa on the 16th would be too late. Therefore, it's critical that we collect the passport the same day.
Is anyone else in a similar situation? Should I inform the consular of our same night travel plans or is that ill-advised?

I thought if you invoked your AC21 - you hopped on to the pending-immigrant boat leaving the non-immigrant boat altogether ... and that boat is now gone ...
To get back to a non-immigrant boat .. you may have to get a new one ... but in that case you'll have to show your intent of non-permanent stay in the US ... which your 485 would contradict anyways ...
A better option would be to have your legs in both the boats for as long as possible - i.e. transfer your H1 (and not get on to your EAD) while your 485 is still pending.
I may be wrong .. but this is how i perceive it

IV members have saved all of us a lot of money on attorney phone calls, getting answers to medical test questions and other general questions. I think best option will be to use Consular Processing for your EB2 petition. You will have your GC very soon if PD remains current (which is very likely in your case).

We got "Approval Notice Sent" emails 6 days back. I received my EAD 3 days back but haven't received my wife's yet.
Has anyone filed for Replacement EAD? Do we need to wait 30 days from the date we received the approval email? How long does it take usually to receive a Replacement card?
Please share your experiences.

"Card production ordered" is the first status that you will see and then it will change to "Approval notice sent". Tentatively, Your card will be postmarked with the date when your status changed to "Approval notice sent" and it takes upto 4 calendar days to receive the card through mail. Usually, approval notice goes to attorney on file for 765, if you have filed G28 otherwise you will receive it. Call USCIS and find out whether the card is ordered then ask for follow-up actions and decide whether to file for replacement card. There is no separate form for replacement cards - you will still be using same 765 form; I guess, same processing time applies - you may expedite by taking infopass after receiving the receipt notice for your replacement card by providing the letter from the employer. Hope this helps.

I don't have a suggestion but a question for you. What is this money that you get if you stick with the company after they lay you off. Why would you lose the money if you join company B? I am sorry I just thought it was kind of strange.
I guess he is talking about severance pay, could range from 1 month to 2 years of salary depending on duration of employment with company and there policies.

7. Copies of F-1 visa, I-20, OPT EAD and H1B visas. YES

Immigration at POE (Dulles airport) was breeze, first officer said, "oh..you have parole letter".
he checked something in the system and asked me to go inside..
Took baggage..went into customs...where they sent me into another room.
CBP officer took the AP..felt bad that I have been waiting since 2007 for GC..in < 5 mins, stamped and said, good luck..you are done.
Thats it.

Yahoo has a program to basically field questions to various congressmen and senators (most of them are prominent).
On Oct 26th, Rep. Tom Davis is going to answer questions.

My H1b and my wifes H4 extensions were filed on 2/10 and approved on 4/1.

Yup, I had the same info conveyed to me via lawyer.
One more thing to note, in case of denial, hang on to the I-539 receipt, denial notice etc. this will help your parent/s to present their case whenever they go for new VISA after existing(assuming 10 yr. Multiple) expires. This will help them prove that they did not overstay illegally.
